: This study is based on publicly shared data by LinkedIn users, which was collected using a third-party data provider of LinkedIn in the form of anonymized information and hence not personally identifiable. We have also not scraped gender, race, or other such attributes and not used them in our research. Hence, the scraping of this data does not raise questions around data privacy. There is no conflict of interests in using this data as this is publicly shared and available and has been used to build machine learning models which are supposed to help employers as well as employees. Also, the data is scraped by an authorized third-party tool in anonymized form. Hence this process is compliant with LinkedIn’s policy.
