: This research was approved by the Research and Dissemination Directorate at Dilla University with the committee members Dr.Misganu Legesse in accordance with the ethical standards of Dilla University research and dissemination policy and guideline. We acquired verbal agreement from participants of Focus Group Discussion voluntarily prior to the actual data collection of this study. The authors explained that the data collected from discussants were solely used for academic research being conducted for post-doctoral research at Center for development research (ZEF), University of Bonn, Germany, and Dilla University, Ethiopia. The research was intended to measure and characterize meteorological drought and its impacts in the UNESCO designated World Heritage Site of Konso Cultural Landscape. Authors also assured participants that any information they provide will be confidential; their name and any other identifying details will not be disclosed in this study; their participation in this study was entirely voluntary; they have full right to participate or not participate, and they may withdraw at any point of the interview. Finally, all participants verbally granted informed consent to authors. The medium of communication was both in Konsogna and Amharic languages.
