: The research was approved by the University of Energy and Natural Resources’ Department of Forest Science Ethics Committee and it was also aligned to the principles of the 1975 Helsinki Declaration (2000 revision). Interviews gathered only basic, non-sensitive demographic data, avoiding any information that could harm or stigmatize participants. Much of the information (such as gender, marital status, resident status, and educational level) was already publicly visible within the communities. All survey responses were anonymized and coded throughout the research process (e.g., Community 1-Respondent 1 labeled as C1R1). Our analysis emphasized ecozone-level trends rather than individual profiles. All participants provided informed consent before taking part in the study, and their involvement was entirely voluntary.
