Ethics approval and consent to participate: This study did not involve human subjects or clinical trials. Field collection and handling protocols for all amphibian and reptile species were performed in accordance with the guidelines and regulations of the Rwanda Forestry Authority (RFA). Ethical approval for the study protocol was granted by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB)/IRB, and the study is reported in compliance with the ARRIVE guidelines. Furthermore, the handling, tracking, and field release of all specimens strictly adhered to the Law Governing Biological Diversity (N° 064/2021 of 14/10/2021) enforced by the Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA).
Human or animal rights: This study focused solely on amphibians and reptiles from remnant forests and was conducted with permission from the Rwanda Forestry Authority to carry out the field survey. Plants species identification was done by Mrs. Sandrine Uwase, Curator at the National Herbarium of Rwanda.
