: The experiment used chickens, hence University of Namibia ethical standards were followed and the ethical clearance certificate number FANR/004/2019 was obtained from the University Ethics committee before commencement of the experiment. Additionally, the researchers worked hand-in-hand with the veterinarians on campus to guarantee that the animal welfare standards were adhered to.
