: The germplasm (parents) used in the present study were procured initially from Bangladesh Wheat and Maize Research Institute (BWMRI), Dinajpur, Bangladesh. Later the subsequent generations were developed by crossing, selfing and foreground selection. However, the seed samples are collected during exploration programs duly permitted and approved by the university and samples are documented properly. As a member of the University and head of the Plant Breeding Department, one of the co-authors and principal investigator of the experiments (M. Hasanuzzaman) is fully authorized to collect, conserve and characterize these crop genetic resources for breeding improved varieties. All the guidelines were followed as per the University research ethics for the collection, characterization and documentation of germplasm accessions.
