: The study received ethical approval from the Pedagogic and Scientific Commission of Université de Kara. Initially, we presented our proposal to the commission, which confirmed its scientific and ethical soundness. For the ethnobotanical survey, informed consent of the tiger nut growers was obtained prior to data collection and morphotypes collection. The participants have consented to the submission of the survey results.
