: This research involved interviews to collect information on the utilization of edible black plum in Uganda. The research protocol was exempted from requiring formal ethical clearance following the approval of the research proposal by the Muni University Faculty of Science Research Committee, under registration number 2017/U/SMB/003/G. To safeguard the anonymity and confidentiality of the interviewees, pseudonyms were employed throughout the research process. No significant ethical concerns were encountered since our focus was solely on the utilization of edible black plum.

: Before and after the interviews, the interviewees provided verbal consent to publish the work from their responses, with their identities remaining confidential.
