: The collection of the buckwheat germplasm used in this study was done by following the local or national guidelines. Moreover SKUAST-Kashmir has a mandate of collecting, characterizing and conserving the local germplasm. Some buckwheat germplasm lines were also procured from NBPGR (National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources) New Delhi.

: SKUAST-Kashmir is the only Mountain Agriculture University in this region of India and the University have mandate of collecting, characterizing and conserving the crop biodiversity. The buckwheat germplasm collected from north western Himalayas is a part of SKUAST-K mandate.
