: Ethical approval for the primary data collection, conducted both in person and remotely, including consent procedures and supporting materials, was obtained from the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Galway, Ireland. All procedures adhered to the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. This research includes human data collected through qualitative methods with participants’ full informed consent.
: Participants have been informed and given their full consent for their anonymised data, including quotes from focus groups and interviews, to appear in research dissemination and reports.
: The recruitment of the participants for this study was conducted with the help of the Agricultural Sustainability Support and Advisory Programme (ASSAP) advisors from dairy processing Co-Ops and Teagasc. Two of the authors of this paper are Teagasc employees, one is the ASSAP manager. No other conflict of interest arises.
