: This study involved non-invasive geological fieldwork and semi-structured interviews with local stakeholders (local guides, residents, and site custodians) solely for contextualizing geoheritage, site use, perceived hazards, and accessibility. All experimental protocols and interview procedures were reviewed and approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Polytech Diamniadio, Université Amadou Mahtar Mbow, Dakar, Senegal. All procedures were carried out in accordance with the relevant institutional, national, and international guidelines and regulations.

: Informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to their participation in the study. By providing informed consent, participants confirmed that they had been made aware of the purpose of the study, the type of information collected, and the potential benefits and risks. For participants under the age of 16, informed consent was obtained from their parents or legally authorized representatives.

: No personal data, identifying health information, or images in which individual participants could be recognized are included in this manuscript. Therefore, informed consent to publish identifying information or identifiable images was not required. All names of individual participants have been omitted, and no photographs in this article allow facial or personal identification.
