: Ethical approval was obtained from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, University of Sierra Leone (COMAHS USL) with approval number COMAHS/IRB/001/2023, and permission to conduct the study was granted from the management of all three hospitals involved. The COMAHS IRB approved the protocol in accordance with the committee’s application guideline which is predicated on the declaration of Helsinki. Clinical trial number not applicable. The study's background, aim, and objectives were clearly explained to the participants, who were asked to provide informed consent. Informed consent was obtained from the participants before the commencement of the study. To maintain confidentiality, participants' personal information, such as their names, was not recorded. Only those willing to participate were included in the study, and were not pressured or coerced to do so. Their information was coded and kept confidential to ensure their privacy.
