: Data for this study was collected under WAEC approval U303/2020-2023, U303/2023-2025, Southern Cross University ethics approval 21/030, Murdoch University ethics approval RW2316/20 and WA DBCA permit numbers FDOP31000002, FO25000334 and TFA 2223-0007, and DPIRD scientific license U6/2020-2022. Supplementary data was sourced from All Sea Charters and collected under tourism permit L000170. All National and International standards for the ethical treatment of animals were complied to at all times. At no time were live animals directly interacted with as part of this study, and all animals were respected and protected, with no unnecessary harm or disturbance inflicted upon them by adhering to the highest standards of experimental design and animal care. Collaboration between research groups was a priority as part of this study to ensure no duplication of effort and to minimise disturbance. At all times researchers and tour operators implemented the highest standards for the protection of the environment and public health.
