: In this study, we developed a comprehensive score sheet designed to assess the cumulative stress and suffering experienced by animals. This scoring system was initially created for use in animal experiments but can also be applied to other areas of animal welfare. By offering an objective and transparent evaluation of the stresses faced by animals in human care, this tool helps promote an honest understanding of their welfare. Additionally, it supports the application of the 3Rs principle beyond experimental settings. This makes it a strong candidate for publication in the selected journal.We confirm that neither the manuscript nor any parts of its content are currently under consideration or published in another journals.
