: In the Okinawa Prefecture of Japan, the Okinawa Prefectural Fisheries Regulation does not require any permit to harvest marine fauna and flora for experimental and research purposes, unless the species, method or period is outside the provisions of regulation. The capture methods in this study are not covered under the provisions, and there is no seasonal closure for the study animals.
