: The research work on the fish Channa punctatus was approved by the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur, C. G., India (Approval Number: 994/GO/Re/S/06CPCSEA). The guidelines of the committee for the purpose of control and supervision of experiments on animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, Government of India, were followed in the maintenance and sacrifice of animals. The experiments were carried out in accordance with the Basel Declaration.
