: All experimental protocols were approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Haramaya University. Young leaf explants of Punica granatum were collected from home gardens in the Karamille district, East Hararghe, Ethiopia, with prior verbal consent from the respective household owners. The plant material was identified by Mr. Abdurazak Adem (Botanist at Haramaya University Herbarium), and a voucher specimen (Voucher No. HU-PLT/1234) was deposited at the Haramaya University Herbarium. The study adhered to all institutional, national, and international guidelines for the collection and use of plant materials.
