: Ethical approval was obtained from the University of Gondar, College of Natural and Computational Sciences, ref CNCS/02/03/189/01/2024. In addition, letters of support was obtained from the department of Biology and official permission was requested from selected study towns’ abattoir administrators. Based on the written letter from the department of Biology, College of natural and computational science, University of Gondar, permission was obtained from each abattoirs management body to conduct the study before the commencement of the study. Consent was provided to the study participants, confirming that all procedures involved in this research adhere to ethical guidelines and regulations related to animal welfare. Participants were informed that the research aims to enhance scientific understanding and promote responsible practices in animal research.
