: All experiments have been conducted as per the guidelines of the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. Experimental work was conducted with available data on unusual bird mortality at both farms. Samples were collected from dead birds only. Therefore, the use of animals in this research does not require ethical clearance. We have obtained permission from the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (Establishment registration no: 528/Go/Re/SL/02/CPCSEA/21/01/2002) for our study. The project number for this work is 237/IAEC/RVC/528/CPCSEA.
