: <i>Dacryodes edulis and Persea americana</i> were collected in Ogige Market in Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria. The cultivated plants’ fruits were grown in Ovoko area of Nsukka local government council and harvested on the day of purchase (22nd July, 2022). The plant material were identified by Dr. N. Abu of the Department of Plant science of the university of Nigeria and a voucher specimen was deposited at University of Nigeria herbarium. The collection of the plants used in the study complies with local or national guidelines with no need for further affirmation.
