Ethics approval and consent to participate: Isodon coesta occurs naturally and grows wild in the Uttarakhand Himalayan region of India. The collection of plant material used in this study was conducted in accordance with the applicable local and national guidelines and regulations governing the collection of plant materials. Isodon coesta is not listed as an endangered or threatened species and is not included in the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), India, list of plants requiring specific collection permission or licensing. Therefore, no specific permission or license was required for the collection of the plant material used in this study.
