: The germplasm of the grass species used in the present study was acquired through the purchase of seeds in local stores that are widely sold and cultivated in Brazil. Anacardium occidentale was collected in the germplasm bank of the Federal University of Piauí and belongs to the vegetation of Piaui State, Brazil. for commercial use of its fruits. Samples are collected during university-approved and permitted exploration programs and samples are properly documented. As a member of the University and head of the forage plant production sector, this author is fully authorized to collect, conserve and characterize the genetic resources of local crops to improve agricultural practices. All guidelines were followed in accordance with the University's research ethics for collection, characterization and documentation of local varieties or germplasm accessions.
