: The medicinal plants used in the present study were collected from various four sub counties of Nyamira County-Kenya with different farming activities. The landrace samples are collected during exploration programs duly permitted and approved by the university and samples are documented properly. Research department s of Kisii University and Machakos University have been established by an act of legislature and are the custodians of crop & indigenous plant biodiversity. As members of Chemistry Departments of School of Pure and Applied Sciences in the Universities, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th authors are fully authorized to collect, conserve, characterize and carry out research on chemical composition of vegetable, crop and medicinal plant varieties. All the guidelines were followed as per the Universities research ethics for collection, characterization and documentation of the medicinal plants.
