The quince seeds used in the study were bought from a local shop in Isfahan, Iran, and the tomato and tobacco plants were grown from commercial seeds in a research greenhouse owned and managed by the University of Turku. The cultivation of the plants was done according to the standards of the Plant Molecular Biology unit of the Department of Life Technologies of the University of Turku under the supervision of the corresponding author, following the guidelines of the Plant Molecular Biology unit.
