: The plant variety of Black Cumin ( Nigella sativa L.) used in the present study was collected as landraces. The variety in the present study was collected during an exploration program duly permitted and approved by Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV), State Agricultural University and samples were conserved properly. Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya was established by an act of Agriculture and is the custodian of Crop-biodiversity. As a member of the University Dr. Dipak Kumar Ghosh (LKN), Department of Plantation, Spices, Medicinal, and Aromatic Crops, is fully authorized to collect, conserve, characterize, and standardize the agronomic practices of the genetic resources for improved variety. All the guidelines were followed as per the University research ethics for collection, characterization, and standardization of protocols for improving yield and quality of the landrace.
