: The plant material was collected from the wild, and the status was determined as per the guidelines issued by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Whereas the taxonomical assessments were done by following the guidelines issued by the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature (ICBN). In order to uphold the ethical norms for medicinal plants in the state, the internationally recognised Centre for Biodiversity & Taxonomy (CBT) is authorised to give permission for the collection and identification of the Viola species for research purposes at KUBG, and the institution granted us the approval for this work.
