: Research on tomato ( Solanum lycopersicum L. cv. Thilina) complied with the institutional guidelines of the University of Jaffna and the national regulations of the Department of Agriculture, Sri Lanka for research on cultivated plants. No ethical approval was required. A few diseased leaves were collected from naturally infected commercial farm plants with prior permission from the respective farmers and agricultural officers. No whole plants or endangered species were involved, and no specific permits or licences were required.
