: Permission for the collection of plant material and the conduct of field surveys was obtained from the relevant authorities, namely the Forest Department of the State of Madhya Pradesh, India. Mature fruits of Holarrhena pubescens Wall. ex G. Don and Wrightia tinctoria (Roxb.) R.Br. were collected from healthy, fruit-bearing trees in the Rewa (24.913056°N, 81.215000°E; 360 m a.s.l.) and Jabalpur (23.148355°N, 79.903427°E; 473 m a.s.l.) Forest Divisions, respectively. Species identification was confirmed by the corresponding author (MKV) through comparison with authenticated specimens conserved at the ICFRE–TFRI Herbarium, Jabalpur. Seed voucher specimens (TFRI0151 and TFRI0169) were deposited in April 2024 in the Ex-situ Seed Gene Bank, ICFRE–TFRI, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India.
