: The research did not impair species survival and that the work adhered to the IUCN guidelines regarding minimal disturbance and conservation of the species. The study used advanced breeding line (DWS-95) of Withania somnifera Dunal, a widely and commercially cultivated plant species in India. The breeding line was developed at the ICAR-Directorate of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research (DMAPR), Anand, Gujarat, India. The Plant material was identified and maintained by ICAR-DMAPR, Anand and all related research activities complied with the International and the National guidelines for the cultivated plant species.
