: The experimental research on plant material complied with relevant institutional, national, and international guidelines and legislation governing plant research. The experiments were conducted in the polyhouse of the Plant Physiology Discipline, Genetics and Tree Improvement Division, Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, India. Populus deltoides (G48) cuttings used in the study were procured from the Silviculture and Forest Management Division, Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun. Necessary institutional permissions were obtained for conducting the experiment. No endangered or protected species were involved in this study.
