: The plant material used in this study was the ginger cultivar ‘Athira’ ( Zingiber officinale Roscoe ). The rhizomes of this widely cultivated and released variety were purchased from the authorized institutional center of the Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), Mannuthy, Thrissur, Kerala, India (10.53° N, 76.24° E). As the material was obtained from a registered, cultivated source, no specific permits or licenses for collection from wild or protected areas were required. The use of this plant material adheres to all relevant institutional and national guidelines. It complies with the principles outlined in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Policy Statement on the responsible utilization of plant resources.
