: Permissions to collect the plants/plant parts. All plants/plant parts used in this study was collected from open, non‑protected lands, dunghills and farmlands that are not subject to any specific governmental or institutional collection restrictions. The specimens were obtained from publicly accessible areas and no endangered or protected species were involved, no formal collection permits or licences are required. The plant species were identified by Mr. Felix Nwafor, Plant Taxonomist, Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
