Ethics approval and consent to participate: Permission for collection of plant material and to conduct the field survey was obtained from the relevant authorities. Orchard established and owned by Mr. Imam Bux Jatoi local farmer at city New Jatoi district Naushahro Feroz, Sindh, Pakistan. Fruits were collected by research team of Date Palm Research Institute, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, Pakistan in the year 2015 and 2020. Fruits were collected from the healthy trees at late khalal stage at latitude 26.7949° N and longitude 67.9896° E. Identification of all chance seedlings was confirmed according to international taxonomic guidelines. Collection of plant/plant parts used in this study compiled with international guidelines. All the plant materials were cultivated from the seeds of local cultivars owned by the local farmer in his land, and was not required any official permission as the orchard owned by the private company/person. All the collections of plant materials were totally free of charge and the samples were collected with consent of owner of orchard. Consent to participate is not applicable.
