: Eucalyptus camaldulensis and Acacia mearnsii used in this study are invasive alien plants in South Africa. Toronto Group (Pty) Ltd. uses them to produce biochars. These invasive alien plants are from traceable and trusted sources, enabling clean and responsible forest management and promoting the green economy. Therefore, the collection of the plants used in the study complies with local or national guidelines with no need for further affirmation. All the procedures were followed per the University research ethics for collection, characterisation and documentation of landraces or biochar accessions.
