: The collection and use of plant materials in this study complied with all relevant institutional, national, and international guidelines and legislation. Maize ( Zea mays L.) seeds used in the experiment were procured from the ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Farming System Research Centre for Hill and Plateau Region, Ranchi, India. The plant materials were cultivated at the experimental farm of ICAR FSCHPR-RCER, Ranchi, Jharkhand. No wild plant specimens were collected, and therefore, no permissions or licenses were required.
