: This study is part of the RPS Birth Cohort Consortium (Ribeirão Preto, Pelotas, and São Luís). The São Luís birth cohort was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the University Hospital of the Federal University of Maranhão (protocol no. 310/2016, CAAE: 57293416.6.1001.5086), in compliance with Resolution No. 466/2012 of the Brazilian National Health Council [ ]. Written informed consent was obtained from all participants or their legal guardians prior to enrollment, and assent was obtained from adolescents when applicable. All procedures were conducted in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional and national research committees and with the 1964 Helsinki Declaration and its later amendments.
