: The use of paraffin embedded GBC tissue of the patients was approved by the bioethical committee of the Hospital Clínico of the Universidad de Chile (Approval act 75), which authorize the use of biopsies under the supervision of the director of the Pathological Anatomy Service (Dr. Iván Gallegos). Informed consent from patients was not required for this work, given that it corresponds to a retrospective study. The Bioethical Committee of the Centro Metropolitano de Sangre y Tejidos, Hospital Metropolitano (Santiago de Chile) approved the use of buffy coats from healthy donors.
