: All applicable international, national, and institutional guidelines for the care and use of animals were followed. All procedures performed in studies involving animals were in accordance with the ethical standards of the institution at which the studies were conducted. Humane killing of mice and subsequent experiments were in accordance with the FELASA guidelines and approved by the local governmental authorities (State Office of Health and Social Affairs Berlin, approval ID: T 0104/06). Previous experiments (Dietert et al.CitationRef removed) as the source of selected tissues re-examined here had been approved by the ethics committee of the Charité-University Medicine Berlin and local governmental authorities (approval ID: G 0358/11) and had also been conducted in strict accordance with the FELASA guidelines and recommendations for the care and use of laboratory animals.
