: The cadaveric specimens were obtained through the Institute of Anatomy of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva. All specimens were obtained from bodies of people who donated their bodies to the institute of anatomy and who had declared their willingness to have their corpses be used by faculty and by the students of the Faculty of Medicine. It did not deem necessary to obtain an additional vote through the local ethical committee.
: The research was supported with materials and equipment provided by the Swiss Foundation on Innovation and Training in Surgery (SFITS) as well as the Black Forest Medical Group. Results of this research may lead to the development of products contributing to patient safety potentially marketed by the Black Forest Medical Group, the employer of the contributing author Jan Mertens. The Black Forest Medical also equipped the wet labs of the SFITS with head-holder systems per permanent loan commitment. Prof. Karl Schaller is the vice president of the SFITS.
