: None of the authors has a conflict of interest to disclose.
: This paper reports all outcomes pertaining to mental health and subjective well-being that have been measured in the COPSY study. Regarding the predictors, we did not include every piece of information gathered from the respondents (items such as physical activity and media use) but included those which—from a conceptual point of view—could be considered potential determinants, confounders or important contextual factors. The results of items asking about health behaviors (such as physical activity and media use) will be part of a later publication.
: The COPSY study was approved by the Local Psychological Ethics Committee (LPEK-0151) and the Commissioner for Data Protection of the University of Hamburg.
: Informed consent was obtained from all individual participants included in the study.
