Ethical clearance for animal sampling was obtained by R Slotow from the University of Kwazulu-Natal Animal Ethics Committee. Post-translocation samples were all collected as part of a larger monitoring project on Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife.
