: Rainbow trout were reared at the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Feed and Environment (INRAE) experimental facility (IE Numea ExternalRef removed), authorized for animal experimentation by the French Veterinary Service (A64-495–1 and A40-228–1). The technical staff received training and authorization to conduct experiments. The experiment was conducted in strict agreement with Directive 2010/63/EU of European Union regulations on the protection of animals used in scientific research, and the National Guidelines for Animal Care of the French Ministry of Research (decree no. 2013–118, 02 Jan 2013). The experiment did not need approval from the ethical committee (C2EA-73) since it complied with current rearing standards.
