Actually, Giardia lamblia (C2) used in this study was obtained from research group of Professor Siqi Lu, Capital Medical University. They successfully isolated and cultured 4 isolates of G. lamblia in China in 1996, which were designated as BEIJ/88/BTMRI/1 (C1), SUCH/89/BTMRI/(C2), FUJI/90/DPCIM/1 (C3), and SHEN/92/DPCIM/2 (CR) [CitationRef removed]. The Giardia lamblia (C2) strain was donated by Professor Lu Siqi to our group and we used it to perform the experiments whose results are presented in this manuscript [CitationRef removed].
