The study was communicated to Farmaindustria (the National Trade Association of the pharmaceutical industry).
: According to Spanish law (“<i>Ley 41/2002, de 14 de noviembre, básica reguladora de la autonomía del paciente y de derechos y obligaciones en materia de información y documentación clínica el consentimiento informado</i>”), informed consent has to be signed only when the activity of the study can affect patient’s health status. Since our study is observational and patient data were obtained using an online anonymous survey, it was not necessary for caregivers to sign an informed consent in this study.
: By voluntarily completing the questionnaire, informal caregivers of Alzheimer´s disease patients gave their consent for the data to be used confidentially (only aggregated data are reported).
