: This study was performed under the Case Management System contract between Marquis Software Development and the Arkansas Department of Corrections, which contributed to the salaries of the first and fifth authors. The second author was also an employee of Marquis at the time of the study but is currently a graduate student in applied statistics. The third and fourth authors undertook their work without financial compensation. The Editor-in-Chief of the <i>Cambridge Journal of Evidence-Based Policing</i> receives compensation from Marquis Software for work on a separate project in another state (Kentucky) in which Marquis Software has been funded as a subcontractor by the US Bureau of Justice Assistance to conduct an experiment in smart phone supervision of persons coming out of prison, aimed at determining whether the supervision app can reduce re-imprisonment for technical violations.
