: Our research did not include any invasive technique that required handling or capture of live animals. Our methods were strictly based on camera traps, a non-invasive technique which, therefore, does not compromise the welfare of our study species. Our research followed corresponding protocols on this matter according to the Colombian regulations. Since our research did not require manipulation of any species or direct experimentation, this research did not require a revision or permission by an institutional or governmental regulatory body. However, in our research we strived to respect and acted ethically towards ecosystems and animals’ welfare while conducting our fieldwork. All permits to access private lands were also given before conducting the study in oil palm landscapes.
