: The registration ID on ClinicalTrials.gov is NCT01959763. The Ethics Committee of the North Ostrobothnia Hospital District (PPSHP) has approved the PrevMetSyn study with decision 29/2012 (March 26, 2012) and amendment statements dated November 23rd, 2012, February 18th, 2013, and May 7th, 2018. All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations. The research data is stored at Oulu University Hospital, and access to the data is limited to the research group members. The identity of the individuals is pseudonymized, and the data is processed with research ID numbers. All participants were informed about the details of the study. Participation was voluntary, and the participants provided written informed consent with the option to withdraw from the study at any time. We use the principles of Good clinical practice. Regarding the storage and use of software and personal data, we comply with GDPR regulations.
