The study was initiated in December 2016, prior to current requirements for prospective clinical trial registration, and retrospectively registered at the Brazilian Clinical Trials Registry (ReBEC), which is part of the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP-WHO). The ReBEC identifier code is RBR-9dfvgp, and the trial received the Universal Trial Number (UTN) U1111-1144-5390. Written informed consent was obtained from all participants after the nature and possible consequences of the study had been explained.
