: All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations. Animal experiments were carried out in line with the revised Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and the EU Directive 2010/63/EU sanctioned by Local Ethical Review Process (Animals in Science Committee (ASC) Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Body (AWERB) at the University of Glasgow). Mice were maintained on a mixed strain background at the Cancer Research UK Scotland Institute under project licence authority (70/8645 and P5EE22AEE to Professor Hing Leung). For clinical samples, ethical approval was obtained from the West of Scotland Research Ethics Committee (05/S0704/94).
