: For Sprague Dawley rats and ApoE KO mice, protocols were approved by the CSIR-IICB Animal Ethics Committee (Reference nos. IICB/AEC/Meeting/May/2019/3, dated 31/05/2019, and IICB/AEC/Meeting/Sep/2019/4, dated 04/09/2019, respectively) and the animals were handled in accordance with the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Social Justice, and Government of India (Registration no. 147/1999/CPCSEA). For 5xFAD mice, protocol was approved by the NBRC Internal animal ethics committee (Reference no. NBRC/IAEC/2024/201, dated 03/08/2024) and the animals were handled in accordance with the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Social Justice, and Government of India (Registration no. 64/GO/ReBi-S/Re-L/01/CPCSEA). Human research participants were not included in the study, thereby consent to participate is not applicable.
